Musical Improv Level 3: Professional Ensemble w/ Katy Berry (Tuesdays)
Musical Improv Level 3: Professional Ensemble w/ Katy Berry (Tuesdays)
This class is limited to 16 students.
In Musical Improv 301, we’ll spend the first 5 classes continuing our skill-building including narrative moves, interview-based songs, finding humor in difficult content, improving harmonies and musicality, walk-ons, and rap battles. The next 3 classes will give students an opportunity to perform live, free shows for invited friends, followed by director notes and class-driven analysis to help diagnose issues, ask questions, and strengthen our collective instincts. The class will culminate with a Mainstage show, for which students will be expected to come up with a show title, theme/hook, poster, and marketing plan to prepare them for producing their own original shows going forward!
This class culminates in two in-class workshop performance and a final, ticketed performance for the public.

Testimonials:
Katy Berry is so funny, just her teaching the class will make you laugh more than some actual comedy shows. Every week as soon as I walked out the door, I couldn't wait for next time. Literally the most fun class I have ever taken, comedy or otherwise!
This class is SO challenging and SO much fun. I knew every week I was going to come to class and laugh until I cried at least once. You really get tossed off the deep end and are surprised when you are able to swim as a group so quickly.
Students enrolled in multi-week classes get into all shows at the BCC for free. Students are strongly encouraged to make use of their student IDs to see as many shows as possible. By registering, you agree to make your best effort to see at least two shows during your class.
