Musical Improv Level 2: Technique w/ Adrian Frimpong (Sundays)

Technique (Sharpen The Knives)

After Level 1, you will have learned all the basic tools you need to do musical improv. Level 2 will delve more deeply into technique to fine tune your skills. We'll be going deep into effective scene work, strategic gifting, complex song structures, confident characters, rapping and rhyming, nailing genre, improved musicality, and polished choreography. This class will push you to grow and prepare you for higher quality shows, all while having tons of silly fun. 

This class culminates in a performance for the public.

Prerequisite: Completion of BCC Level 1 Musical Improv OR students who have taken at least one full-length Musical Improv course at a major comedy theater (UCB, PIT, Magnet, Squirrel, Second City, iO, Annoyance, etc.). Please write your prior Musical Improv experience in the form when registering.

7-Week Class: Sundays, 3:00 - 6:00 PM, January 12th - October 21st

  • Please note: This class may end between 5:30 - 6:00 PM depending on the number of enrollments.

Adrian’s Bio:

Adrian “Frimmy” Frimpong has written and performed at San Francisco Sketchfest, Portland Sketchfest, and Out of Bounds in Austin.  UCB NY alum featured in ComedyCentral’s Mini Mocks, NBC’s Bring the Funny, and regularly voices NFL and NBA athletes for Bleacher Report’s animated series. When he’s not performing with musical improv group, Baby Wants Candy, he co-hosts the variety show, 100%, at Pete’s Candy Store every 4th Friday.
