The Adaptable Clown w/ Seth Bockley (5-Week Workshop - Tuesdays)

$300.00

Each class is limited to 10 students.

The Adaptable Clown is for comedians, actors and clowns who want to learn how to riff on classic stories and popular narratives to create adapted characters and eventually full-length shows. In this five-week class, veteran adapter Seth Bockley will challenge participants to combine familiar tropes and narratives with the pure playfulness of clown. We’ll explore physical theater and improv techniques that riff on stories ranging from classic fairy tales to contemporary TV and video games. Participants will discover fresh takes on familiar narratives and existing characters, and their unique clowning style. By the end of the course, students will have the seeds for a clown adaptation project of their own.

Prerequisite: Clown Level 2 at BCC or similar clown experience.
