Clown Level 2 w/ Chris Manley (January-February) (Tuesdays)
Clown Level 2 w/ Chris Manley (January-February) (Tuesdays)
This class is limited to 12 students.
In this class, you will learn that anything can be the clown's script.
We will build on the skills learned in Level 1, leaning into the most vulnerable parts of yourself and heightening them to a ridiculous extent. You’ll identify pieces of yourself and find ways to explore them that are both loving and silly. You will also learn about the status dynamics of the 1 and 2 clown and you’ll get to try on both identities. By the end, you will have the tools to begin building your own clown show.
Through your relationship to everything, you are the clown.
This class culminates in a class show on the Eris MainStage.

Testimonial:
“Chris helped each of us find our voices in the class and learn to create authentic relationships with the audience. Clown has made me better at performance in general including improv. I would highly recommend this class to anyone who wants to get deeper into clown technique, have more fun and fulfilling audience interactions, or wants to get ‘unstuck’ and out of their head while performing. Rock on weirdos!”
"Chris was so great at pushing us in a way to help us grow as clowns. It was wonderful to see such noticeable growth among my classmates, all in an environment that felt incredibly safe, warm, and welcoming."
"Chris is a beautiful teacher. He's knowledgeable, open, kind, generous, warm, intelligent. He creates a classroom where students are free to take emotional risks, and an ensemble forms."
