mask: an improvised musical

  • Eris Deep Space 167 Graham Ave Brooklyn, NY, 11206 (map)

DOORS: 8:15 PM

SHOW: 8:30 PM

Located in the BCC Deep Space

The first question we always get for this show is, “Do I need to wear a mask at your show?” If this was April 2020, I’d tell you, “Why would anyone wear a mask? We’ll be out of this ‘lockdown’ in a few weeks.” If this was December 2021, I’d tell you, “Why would anyone not wear a mask? Omni finna bust yo holidays up if you don’t!” And if this was June 23rd, 2022, I’d tell you, “Do what makes you feel comfortable.”

Featuring: Jesse Montagna, Julia Kwamya, and Nick Sessler, with Michael Andrew as music director.

This ensemble will improvise a variety of scenes (without a mask) and turn them into songs (that still could very well be about wearing masks). Creating melody, harmony, and choreography on the spot, this show will shake the mask (if you choose to wear one) right off your face.

Must be 21+ to attend.
