On Tuesday, February 13th at 7 PM, Brooklyn Comedy Collective will be hosting The GottaGo Room, an immersive comedy show slash fake-ass escape room. In the show, you ("you" meaning whoever is reading this right now) will go inside BCC and then immediately try to leave BCC, as no one will be allowed to leave the show until the escape-the-room is solved. Unless there's a real fire. Then we're leaving there as fast as possible.
So put on your Thinking Hats, your Puzzle-solving Pants, and your Guessing, uh, Guess pants and come to BCC where if you fail you may never leave the theater again. Claustrophobics welcome!
This show was performed 15 times in 16 nights at the 2023 Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and included one sold out show and many British people struggling how to work American high school-style locks. One audience reviewer stated, "we loved every second of it" and it "deserved an Academy Award," probably for the Academy Award category that they give to non-movies.The show comes from the mind and laptop of Jason Weitzman, who Time Out New York described as "a brilliant gonzo performer," "deranged, daring, and wholly original," and "he will exert himself to the point of danger." The last quote makes more sense with some context.
