Improvised Jane Austen

  • Eris Mainstage 167 Graham Avenue Brooklyn, NY, 11206 United States (map)

Eris Mainstage

Founded in 2008 in Chicago, Improvised Jane Austen is a comedic ensemble that creates unscripted performances using Regency-era tropes, themes, and language. The ensemble will ask for a letter of the alphabet and two words that begin with that letter. Those two words (ie. Vixen & Vulture, Peculiar & Presumptuous, Corn & Curiosity) are the title for that night’s show, and inspire the improvisation that ensues, a romantic comedy set in Regency-era England. Playing in Austen’s world, our stories delight 21st century audiences with a modern sense and sensibility. Come for the humor, stay for the heart!
