FREE POC Workshop. Yes And Myself w/ Lou Gonzalez Jr. (Friday, February 28th)

$0.00

Workshop limited to 16 students.

This workshop will focus on yes anding yourself completely. Often times performers will interpret “yes and” as a way to limit the parts of themselves that are marginalized so they can be  better received by their scene partner and team. We will work on ways of brining your whole self into scenes that celebrates you and your experiences.

This class is completely free for POC Improvisers, sign up while there’s still room. Then, stay at The Pig Pen for BCC’s monthly BIPOC Jam at 7:00pm!

Workshop: Friday, February 28th, 5:00pm-7:00pm

Where: BCC Pig Pen (144 Boerum Street)

Note: As this class is free, we expect perfect attendance. If you register, and are not able to attend the class, please email classes@brooklyncc.com ASAP so we can get someone in the class off of the waitlist.

His teaching has taken him to various comedy theaters and training centers around the globe celebrating diverse voices. They were even featured on NPR saying “Taking Classes with Lou felt like more than just taking classes” . So she’s that gurl.

Testimonials:

Lou made me (and everyone) feel SO comfortable as an improviser and just as a queer person. I leave this class with such a strong sense of confidence in who I am as a person and performer, and that’s mainly due to Lou.

Lou gets into your head in a way that really helps you grow. They’re great at really specific directions for improvement and also understanding you and your style as an improviser. Lou really makes it about how can you be your own best improviser while staying true to your style and what's fun for you.
